Hot Tub Algaecide is designed specifically for treating algal growths in hot tubs, spas and swimming pools. Our algaecide can be used as a shock treatment to treat water where algal growths are already present, and also as a preventative measure. Whether you’re a chlorine or bromine user, this product is safe to use in both indoor and outdoor settings.
A common problem in hot tubs, spas and pools is the growth of green algae. It can happen for a variety of reasons, including lack of sanitising chemicals causing a pH imbalance and over-exposure to UV light. Warm water and sunlight are a perfect breeding ground for green algae and, although not generally harmful to human health, it’s not pleasant and can very quickly become an algal bloom, which can be even more difficult to get rid of so it’s best treated before it gets to that stage! If you’re using hot tub algaecide as a shock treatment, make sure you continue to use it regularly afterwards to keep the algae at bay and prevent a recurrence.
