We are pleased to announce that we have two new products on our website this month!
Regulation changes in October 2023 made it illegal to sell certain strength chemicals to the general public. The regulations covered both raw materials such as certain strength acids and also products that contained those chemicals over a certain strength. As a result, two of our popular products: Free Scale (Dishwasher and Washing Machine Descaler) and Urinal Descaler could no longer be sold to the general public.
Our research chemists have been hard at work reformulating both products so that they are no longer covered by the regulations and can be sold to the general public.
Free Scale
Our new formulation Free Scale is perfect for descaling and cleaning your dishwasher and washing machine. If scale builds, particularly in hard water areas, this can lead to breakdowns, costly repairs and sometimes the need to replace your machine!
Free Scale will remove scale deposits from your machine and pipework, keeping the water flowing.
The simple to use dosing bottle makes it easy to measure out the required dose for you appliance. All you need to do is pour it in to the appliance and set it on the required program and you’ll have a sparkling, scale-free appliance by the end of the wash cycle!
For standard dishwashers and washing machines, just use 50 ml of descaler, pour it directly into the empty machine (not the detergent dispenser) and set your machine to a wash cycle of at least 30°C with no prewash.
Once the cycle has finished your Dishwasher / Washing Machine will be scale free and shiny, ready to for the next wash.

Urinal Descaler
Our new formulation Urinal Descaler has been thoroughly tested and will effectively remove uric acid and calcium carbonate, the common cause of blockage or slow- running urinals. It can be used to deal with blockages or as a regular maintenance product to prevent blockages from forming.
Professional Urinal Descaler
We will continue to manufacture the original formulation of Urinal Descaler but this will only be available to professional users (businesses) who have completed the regulated substance process. This involves providing photo ID and completing a form – more information about this process can be found on our website by clicking the button below:
How to use Urinal Descaler
To use urinal descaler you need to plug or bung the outflow for the urinals, creating a closed system. Then add the calculated amount of urinal descaler and top up with water, until the solution is visible in the urinal bowl. To achieve best results, leave in-situ for 1 – 2 hours and then remove bung/plug and let the system drain. Your urinals and pipes should now be free of build up! You should follow the instructions on the label careful in particular in relation to PPE such as chemical glasses, suitable gloves etc. Please note Technical Data Sheets are available and will provide the information you need to safely use this product.
Professional Urinal Descaler is a concentrated product and a single litre will deal with approximately 1 kg of uric acid/limescale so the amount you need will depend on the severity of the build-up in the pipework. Urinal Descaler will be effective but may take longer to have the same effect.
