Winter driving can be full of hazards and so its important that you can be seen! Our top tip for Tuesday is to use our Waterless Wash to clean off your headlights, sidelights, number plate and wing mirror. Simply spray on and wipe off with a microfibre cloth…not water required! (The name is a bit of a giveaway). Available in a handy 750 ml spray bottle as well as a 3.25 litre refill bottle, why not keep a bottle handy in the boot so you can keep your lights and mirrors clean and clear?
Waterless Wash also leaves behind a protective film making it harder for the dirt, traffic film and salt to stick! This is great for lights, number plates and side mirrors but Waterless Wash should not be used on anything that you need to grip e.g. the steering wheel and pedals! If you want to give your windscreen or back windscreen a good clean then we recommend our professional grade Glass Cleaner for the job (avoid using Waterless Wash for this as whilst it does a great job of cleaning the windscreen you can get a smearing effect from the windscreen wipers due to the protective film).

Did you know that it is an offence to attempt to drive your car anywhere before the entire windscreen is clear? You probably did. A recent survey found that 43% know its illegal but still do it!

Not only can it be dangerous to have your view of the road and other road users obstructed it could also result in a fine of up to £2500 and possible points on your license, and that’s assuming you aren’t involved in a road traffic incident… if you are the penalties can be much worse.

You may not be aware but its also an offence to run your car engine whilst you aren’t in the car. Quite a few of us are probably guilty of this one! It’s a freezing morning and so you start the engine to heat the front windscreen and then get out to scrape off the ice. This is classed as idling and is an offence under the Road Traffic Act. You can be fined up to £1000 and get 3 points on your license!
